Biography

Gonzalo's main research interests encompass rangeland ecology and grazing, from the trophic efficiency to the economy of these types of production systems. To do so, he used remote sensing to understand the spatial and temporal variations of ANPP (Aboveground Net Primary Production). At the same time, tries to understand the relative importance of climate and humans on shaping ANPP variations. In his home country, Argentina, he contributed to a national scale forage production observatory (http://produccionforrajes.org.ar/). At Rothamsted, he joined the Sustainable Agricultural Sciences department where he is involved in understanding the spatial and temporal variation of both forage quantity and its quality.
