The big picture: using wildflower strips for pest control
The Global Nitrogen Innovation Center for Clean Energy and the Environment (NICCEE), is a Global Centre project that employs use-inspired, data driven approaches to focus on the challenges, innovations, opportunities and socioeconomic impacts associated with green NH3 and climate smart N management (niccee.org). The UK partner of the NICCEE Global Centre project, based at the Rothamsted Research, North Wyke campus, is involved in scenario modelling at field and national scales using process-based models for nitrogen and life cycle analysis of fertiliser products, as well as field-based experimental research on the mitigation potential of nitrification inhibitors for NH3 and N2O soil emissions resulting from the availability of green ammonia based fertilisers in the UK agricultural system.
