The Sustainability Challenge

In November 2018, we teamed up with industry giant BASF to set some of our early career researchers an innovation challenge. Working in small teams, we asked them to come up with solutions to three of the biggest problems facing the future of farming globally.

There’s no getting away from it – if you want someone to buy into your idea, you’ve got to sell it to them first.

With creative confidence to the max, and the principles of design thinking under their belts, the next step was for our teams to mould their business ideas into something marketable.

We enlisted CEO and former Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Claudio Marinelli, to instruct the teams in the dark arts of pitching and prepare them for their presentations to the big cheeses at BASF.
