UK-Saudi Agritech Research Outreach project will help structure research and innovation investment opportunities in Desert Agriculture Agritech (DAA). This will support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to address its food security and environmental sustainability through training of youth, focusing on dry land farming, small holder farmers, saline and novel production Agri-systems.

Funded by Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), British Embassy Riyadh.

 

Detail

UK-Saudi Agritech Research Outreach project has three strand of activities;

1) Develop key thematic areas in Desert Agriculture.

2) Strengthening capacity building in agritech through advance training programs including Doctoral Training Programme (DTP), masters and fellowships, etc.

3) Promote innovation through supporting an agritech Accelerator Network for translation of research outputs through establishing commercialisation pipelines.

Key research themes include;

• Developing resilient crops with heat & drought tolerant and better nutrition traits

• Improving soil health

• Improving water productivity

• Smart crop protection

• Reducing GHG emissions

• Digital agriculture solutions
