About

Aluminium is more and more widely used in cars, to reduce vehicle weight, improving fuel efficiency and EV range. Join Dr James Famelton from Brunel University to learn how nanoparticles over 10,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair are used to strengthen the aluminium alloys used in cars, planes and even rockets.

Café Scientifique is a place where anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context. Anyone is welcome to come and learn something new, ask questions, and join in the discussion.
