      We have an exciting opportunity for a biological / synthesis chemist to join the Pest-Host Interactions group in the Biointeractions and Crop Protection Department at Rothamsted Research. This 18-month fixed-term post is funded by a BBSRC project ‘Improving Production of High Value Terpene Synthases for Next Generation Pest Management’, which is aimed at developing chemoenzymatic approaches for the sustainable scaled production of high value insect pheromones for supply into the agribusiness sector.

      A Post-Doctoral Plant Molecular Biochemist is required join the Molecular Discovery Group, an integrated research team at Rothamsted Research who are developing woody biomass as a feedstock for the production of high value products for industrial biotechnology, renewable chemical and pharma industries. The post-holder will be involved in the cloning and characterisation of secondary metabolite biosynthesis genes, including the reconstruction of plant pathways in microbial systems.
