BIOGRAPHY
Satish is a Plant-Molecular Biologist with a research career spanning 9 years fully dedicated to understanding plant-pathogen interaction. His work centered on centered on Arabidopsis thaliana and the hemi-biotroph Pseudomonas syringae. Currently, Satish is working at the interface between Genomics and Metabolomics, applying molecular biology expertise to define the genetic components of the Salicinoid biosynthetic pathway in Willow. The overarching aim of the current project is to utilize Rothamsted’s unique collection of Willow genetic resource which comprises of 1,500 diverse species and hybrids collected from all over the world to produce high value pharmaceuticals through a combination of well-developed phytochemistry, willow genetics, genomics and breeding.
