Biointeractions and Crop Protection
Sarah's current research area is the isolation and characterisation of strains of Aspergillus fumigatus from several environmental sources, such as tea, soil, onion and tulip bulbs. She is also involved in the quantification of Aspergillus fumigatus in spore samples collected in the UK, the Netherlands and Poland. Sarah's skills include the efficient handling of large numbers of samples, which need careful data recording of each stage; isolations; culturing; DNA extractions; and QPCR techniques.
