BIOGRAPHY
Nathan Brown is an epidemiologist, with interests in sustainable woodland management and the use of volunteer collected data (passive surveillance) to monitor disease outbreaks. Current projects involve working within interdisciplinary teams that aim to safeguard native woodland across the united kingdom from pests, diseases and decline.
Projects include the surveillance and management of threats to ash treescapes, as well as, monitoring of Acute Oak Decline in woodlands across the United Kingdom. This work represents a continuation of MSc and PhD projects that he undertook with Forest Research (Alice Holt, UK) and Imperial College, London. Before this he trained as a biologist, at the University of Sussex, and worked as a surveyor for an arboriculture and landscape design company.
