Dr MARK DURENKAMP
Laboratory Analyst - Analytical Chemistry
Computational and Analytical Sciences
Mark joined the Analytical Chemistry Unit in 2015 and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS) for analysis of delta13C and delta15N in plant and soil samples. Additionally, he routinely operates the inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) and ICP-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) for major and trace elemental analyses. He is also responsible for setting up new methods on the ICP-MS. Mark has previously worked in plant physiology/nutrition and soil microbiology, and brings his experience as a research scientist to his current role as an analyst.
