Dr MARIA LOPEZ-AIZPUN
Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Sustainable Agriculture Sciences
Maria studied Chemistry at the University of Navarra in Spain. Her PhD was focus on elucidating the environmental impacts of reactive nitrogen from livestock farming. During her PhD she did an internship at Rothamsted Research North Wyke where she worked with Laura Cardenas in assessing a mitigation strategy of soil nitrous oxide emissions from grasslands. Maria is currently a postdoctoral research scientist on the Soil to Nutrition project. The project aims to facilitate a more sustainable farming future with optimised use of non-renewable resources and decreasing environmental impact. Maria’s work is focusing on optimising nutrient flow and pools in the soil-plant system as well as assessing effective nutrient use on grazing livestock farms.
