Dr LUCA BüTIKOFER
Data Scientist and Process Modeller
Sustainable Agriculture Sciences
With a background as spatial ecologist, Luca published worked on several systems with a focus on conservation and sustainability. His recent work is dealing with the problematics of sustainable intensification of food production, where he is employing an array of methodologies including process-based and correlaitve models, statistical techniques and machine learning to investigate current and future agricultural practices.
He is currenly contributing to the strategic program ASSIST (Achieving sustainable systems) by developping typical farming typologies for the UK, and a framework to improve their associated ecosystem services. His previous work addressed biological invasions, range shifts and habitat fragmentation.
