SCIENCE INNOVATION, ENGAGEMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS
Dr LEANNE GUNN

Communication and Public Engagement
Following the completion of a degree in geology and a PhD in volcanology Leanne moved into science communication and public engagement and spent over 4 years working as a professional science communicator. During this time she completed a LAMDA qualification in speaking in public and gained a wealth of experience in presenting and developing STEM shows and workshops for audiences of all ages.
Leanne’s academic background means she enjoys meeting researchers, finding out about their work and working with them to find new, exciting and engaging methods to effectively communicate their research. Her understanding of research pressures, communication tips and advice, and experience of working with a variety of audiences will help refine and focus the public engagement activities carried out by Rothamsted Research.
