BIOGRAPHY

Laura is a postdoctoral research scientist in the Plant Sciences Department at Rothamsted Research. She is interested in seed biology, as well as in hormonal and redox signalling mechanisms in seeds. Her expertise includes analytical chromatography, biochemistry, seed dissection and molecular techniques (RNA extraction, PCR and RT-qPCR). In past projects she studied the hormonal, lipid peroxidation and vitamin E accumulation in relation to dormancy and germination in palms and shrubs seeds. Laura´s current project is part of one of the “Brassica Rapeseed and Vegetable Optimisation (BRAVO)” work packages, which consist in identify network components that regulate seed size and number in Brassica napus and Brassica oleracea, and thus increase seed yield.
