Dr HAYLEY HUBBARD
Biointeractions and Crop Protection
Hayley is responsible for managing the DEFRA-approved Insectary, insect behaviour rooms and maintenance of the core collection of insect cultures. She also provides technical support in the insect transgenic laboratory. Her expertise includes insect rearing, insect bioassays and scanning electron microscopy. Before joining Rothamsted, Hayley spent two years leading microbial and insecticide efficacy research projects at Exosect Ltd. Hayley has a MSc in Entomology and a PhD in Tropical Ecology from Silwood Park, Imperial College London. She spent her MSc and PhD studying the effect of deforestation on mosquito community dynamics in Malaysia.
