BIOGRAPHY
Hannah is a bioimaging apprentice, who joined Rothamsted Research in September 2015 and is gaining expertise in biological imaging. She is studying for a Level 3 BTEC and NVQ qualification at Oaklands College in Hertfordshire. Hannah has already gained experience in light, fluorescent and scanning electron microscopy. She works alongside other researchers providing user support, help with sample preparation and troubleshooting. Hannah has also independently carried out small bioimaging projects for researchers that have involved several optimisation steps in the staining and sectioning protocols. Hannah is currently receiving training in various sectioning techniques, such as the vibratome and the cryostat. She is also generating high quality scanning electron micrographs of various commercially important seeds. Her next challenge is independent operation of the transmission electron microscope.
