BIOGRAPHY

Govind is a molecular biologist with experience in yeast engineering. He did his PhD at the University of Graz in Austria, studying optimisation of lipid accumulation in the oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. He is passionate about engineering microbes for production of high-value products. He is experienced in performing bioreactor studies for microbial physiological characterization as well as protein production. He has very flexible personality, able to work under pressure and self-committed. Outside the lab he enjoys doing sports (CRICKET), travelling, and hiking. Since he joined Rothamsted Research in February 2018, he is working within the Plant Science department on the project- Engineering of oleaginous organisms for the production of structured lipids for use in human nutrition.
