Dr GAëTAN SEIMANDI-CORDA
Insect and Chemical Ecology
Biointeractions and Crop Protection
Gaëtan is an agro-ecologist with experience in plant–insect interactions. During his PhD he work with plant breeders to develop a screening method to estimate resistance of oilseed rape to the pollen beetle (Brassicogethes aeneus) based on the plant chemistry. He has experience in field experimentation and in chemical ecology. Gaëtan is now working at Rothamsted Research on the EU-funded project Ecostack. The objectives of this project are to combine effects of the ecosystems services to enhance synergistically the effective interplay of ecosystem service providers (predators, parasitoids, pollinators). Gaëtan will contribute to aiming to understand the effect of enhanced in-crop and off-crop functional diversity on ecosystem services (pest regulation and pollination).
