Dr DANILO LYRA
Statistical & Quantitative Geneticist
Intelligent Data Ecosystems
Danilo holds an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding and has an extensive background in potato, maize, and wheat breeding/genomics. His areas of expertise are statistics, quantitative genetics, population genomics, QTL mapping, association studies, genomic selection, and plant breeding for abiotic stress tolerance (e.g. heat, drought, and nitrogen stress). He is currently working on two projects: 1) combining high-throughput plant phenotyping and molecular genetics for trait dissection in wheat, and 2) elucidating the molecular mechanisms of complex phenotypic traits (e.g. rhizosphere microbiomes) using association and gene-based mapping in the wheat TILLING population.
2018 - Doctor's (Ph.D.) Degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding, University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP), Brazil 2014. Master’s (M.S) Degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding, Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil.
