BIOGRAPHY

Anastasia is working on smart detection of airborne diseases in protected crops. Her work focuses on advancing the undertstanding of spore trap use and function within commercial greenhouses with a specific focus on tomato powdery mildew.

The project involves working on the devlopment and the testing of an automated spore trap; devlopment of DNA-based diagnostic tests; fungicide resistance; as well as designing and managing greenhouse trials on small and commercial scales. The project is demand driven with collaboration with commercial partners to identify to what extent spore traps can be used in integrated pest managment. Currently, Anastasia is a PhD student on the Waitrose Collaborative Training Partnership with BBSRC funding.
