Agri-Tech in China: Newton Network + (ATCNN)

Through Agri-Tech in China: Newton Network+ (ATCNN), the UK will be investing £1.3M in collaborative research and development projects to support a pipeline of innovation aimed at addressing the critical challenges impacting on the socio-economic growth of China’s agri-tech and agri-food sector; delivering solutions through the application UK expertise in satellite imaging, remote sensing, smart sensors, robotics and data-intensive science.

The Joint UK-China Centre for the Sustainable Intensification of Agriculture (CSIA)

The Joint UK-China Centre for the Sustainable Intensification of Agriculture (CSIA) is led by Rothamsted Research and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) and provides an open platform for research, capacity building and knowledge exchange between the UK and China. A further select group of Chinese organisations contributing to the science of sustainability in agriculture are involved as associate partners. These currently include the China Agriculture University (CAU); Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) and Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University (NWAFU).

The UK-China Virtual Joint Centre for Improved Nitrogen Agronomy (CINAg)

The UK-China Virtual Joint Centre for Improved Nitrogen Agronomy (CINAg) aims to meet the needs of China and the UK through a Virtual Joint Centre for Improved Nitrogen Agronomy that ‘optimises farm practices and soil management to make more effective use of different nitrogen sources and reduce losses of nitrogen to the environment, thus mitigating against environmental impacts associated with this loss.
