PPM Collaboration with China

In recent years, collaboration with colleagues in China has taken on new and exciting importance. Within PPM, the Oilseeds Research Group (led by Prof. Bruce Fitt) has been particularly active in arranging reciprocal visits between members of the group and colleagues at a number of research intitutes. Funding for the collaboration has come from a number of sources, primarily through a LINK programme of the British Council (Project number: PEK/0992/312), but also through a Defra Memorandum of Understanding programme and the BBSRC ISIS exchange programme. Last year, a workshop was held at the Oil Crops Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences at Wuhan, Hubei Province on "Molecular detection of pathogens in oilseed rape". Some images from the workshop and visits to field plots can be seen below (hover curser over picture for a description).
