Biography

Sue is Executive Assistant to the Science Director for Plant Sciences for the Bioeconomy. This involves diary management, liaising on a daily basis with other EAs and colleagues at Rothamsted Research, and especially with research project collaborators outside the Institute. She makes extensive travel arrangements for the strategic area's staff and visitors. She regularly organises project meetings. Sue is also responsible for administration of the 20:20 Wheat Institute Strategic Programme meetings, as well as collating outputs from the project and updating this information to Researchfish on a regular basis, together with that of some of the other BBSRC-funded projects. Her science background enables her to be a proficient editor of manuscripts for journals and book chapters. Sue’s theoretical and practical background knowledge of plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology helps in most aspects of her role as departmental secretary, and in dealing with any enquiries, both within the strategic area and from external sources. Her organisational skills are essential for making travel arrangements and for ensuring visa applications are completed correctly and submitted in good time.
