Ethidium


Ethidium Bromide. A chemical compound that fluoresces in UV light, and that binds specifically to DNA. A carcinogene. EthBr is used to reveal bands of DNA on gels after they have run during an electrophoresis experiment. So it is similar to a dye for staining DNA
