Life, a definition?

How would you define life?

Here is a definition. Life is about:

Growing

From birth to death, an organism grows. Plants, fungi, humans... except for viruses, but are they living organisms?

Moving

Movement is the first thing that would tell you if one is alive or not... although plants themselves do not move, there is movement inside.

Eating

Exchanging matter with the outer world is a sign of life: it starts with breathing, then ingesting matter (and its excretion), metabolising, and even talking and hearing (feeding those grey cells!)

Breeding

Life has this unavoidable property to multiply itself. Anything will do the trick. It seems we are just here to pass life around.
