We have a new opening for a Cleaner to join our small and friendly team at the North Wyke site of Rothamsted Research, which is situated 6 miles East of Okehampton in Devon. Our site comprises offices, laboratories and residential accommodation, our buildings an interesting mix of pre-Tudor hewn oak lined rooms dating back to 1242 on the site of a former Devon longhouse, and more modern buildings.
A postdoctoral natural products chemist is required join an integrated research team at Rothamsted Research who are developing woody biomass from willow as a feedstock for the bioenergy, biofuel and industrial biotechnology industries. Using spectroscopic techniques, the postholder will chemically characterise natural products from biomass from genetically different willow species and breeding lines as part of an EPSRC-funded project on “Ionic Liquid Biorefining of Lignocellulose to Sustainable Polymers” led by Imperial College, London.
Rothamsted Research, North Wyke has an exciting opportunity for a Hydrologist to join a successful research team investigating catchment systems and sedimentological responses to agricultural interventions for pollution control. The project, which will be supervised by Professor Adrian Collins, will involve refining methodological components of, and applying, sediment source fingerprinting techniques in research landscapes selected to test the efficacy of on-farm interventions associated with the Catchment Sensitive Farming initiative.
