Rothamsted Research has a commitment to encouraging science communication and public engagement and has a dedicated team of science communicators and press officers who facilitate interaction between scientists, the media and schools. The proposed work and potential outcomes of this project are worthy of high profile media coverage and as such, wherever appropriate, efforts will be made to communicate with the media through press releases and via other outlets including our website and the Science Media Centre. Our scientists are well versed in science communication and frequently partake in such activities. As well as interacting with the media, we will continue to communicate to schools (via interactive talks, Rothamsted open days and demonstrations) work relating to the project and associated areas (e.g. diseases, vector control and molecular biology). This is currently facilitated by the Setpoint Science Ambassador scheme.
