Mike Beale - Biological Chemist , BSc (University of Bath, 1974), PhD (University of Bristol, 1977). I carried out postdoctoral research at the University of British Columbia and the University of Bristol before joining IACR as a project leader in 1990. I currently lead a multidisciplinary phytochemistry group whose research projects include plant hormone chemistry and biochemistry, plant metabolite profiling and the biosynthesis of plant terpenoids.

Vicky Child - Plant biologist. I have been at IACR since 1963 and have worked in the pollination unit before joining the tropical weeds unit in 1988 to work on the parasitic weed, Striga . I am currently involved in an EU-funded project concerned with the biosynthesis of Striga germination stimulants.

Ian Prosser - Molecular biologist / biochemist . M.I.Biol. (1983), PhD (University of Bristol, 1994). I was at Long Ashton Research Station from 1978 before transferring to Rothamsted Research in 2002. My previous project areas include : Biochemistry of tomato fruit ripening, molecular biology of spinach nitrate reductase, N-assimilation in Lotus japonicus and cloning sulphate transporters from wheat. Currently working on the isolation of sesquiterpene synthases from Solidago canadensis (Further info) .
