Metabolic Regulation: Molecular Nutrition
Research Leader: Dr Malcolm J Hawkesford
IntroductionThe challenge for crop nutritionalists is to optimise nutrient inputs for crop production whilst minimising potential adverse environmental impacts. Implicit in this is sustainable use of precious resources. An essential requirement is a basic understanding of the processes affecting efficient nutrient acquisition and utilisation by plants. We are engaged in a number of projects investigating the molecular basis of these processes.
