Objectives
The main objective of the group is to improve the cost- effectiveness of weed control in sugar beet whilst enhancing the environmental benefits that can accrue from weed control practices.
The group provides advice to farmers and advisers on weed control in sugar beet via articles in the press, a telephone helpline run by the Knowledge Transfer Group, the web and within the sugar beet Grower's Guide. It also advises manufacturers on the effects new products may have on weed control systems in sugar beet.
