    Lesley is currently working in a number of different areas, predominantly field based, including Defra and LINK projects on IPM for orange wheat blossom midge, bean seed beetle and pollen beetles. She is also investigating the effects of plant activators on insect behaviour and development.

     

    Career summary
                           
    1986-date Rothamsted Research, Biological Chemistry Department. Design and development of laboratory, field simulation, field trapping and field plot experiments to study the effects of semiochemicals on insect behaviour. Development of pest management approaches, such as the “push-pull” strategy, utilising semiochemicals to influence pest and beneficial insect behaviour.

    1972-1986 Rothamsted Experimental Station, Insecticides and Fungicides Department. Laboratory and field evaluation of the effects of pesticides on honeybees and other beneficial species.
