will continue to transform agriculture in hilly terrain, characteristic
of much of Southeast Europe. Production risks need to be reassessed
where climatic pressures (rain storms, heat waves, drought) are likely
to increase in the future.
Improved process models for crop response
to drought and temperature will be linked to a down-scaled,
terrain-driven water and energy balance model. Implemented into a GIS
and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) we will derive meaningful
agro-ecological indicators (AEI) at different scale.
