GCTE SOMNET Collaboration

The GCTE-SOMNET aims to link and collaborate with relevant international programmes wherever possible. A list of our current collaborations is given below.

Biosphere Reserve Integrated Monitoring (BRIM) programme

UNESCO's Programme on Man and the Biosphere (MAB) develops the basis, within the natural and the social sciences, for the sustainable use and conservation of biological diversity, and for the improvement of the relationship between people and their environment globally. The MAB Biosphere Reserve Integrated Monitoring (BRIM) programme undertakes abiotic, biodiversity, socio-economic and integrated monitoring in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Its goal is to provide a platform for the integration of the resulting information/data, thus contributing to a better understanding of the changes that take place in the areas being studied and of the factors triggering these changes. BRIM's goal is also to suggest options for planning and management. To visit their website, click on the link above.
