Public Engagement: Promoting the work of Rothamsted Research to a public audience
The main goal of this project is to enhance public confidence in science for agriculture and promote the work of Rothamsted to a wide audience. The key objectives are:
1. Hold events and activities to facilitate and encourage engagement and dialogue between Rothamsted scientists and the public, both locally and further afield.
2. Work actively with schools (primary and secondary) to bring science and scientists in contact with schoolchildren and teachers, and enthuse young people about research and the role it plays in delivering solutions to food security, climate change and environmental protection.
3. Run a responsive and proactive press office so that Rothamsted is recognised as a centre of excellence and expertise in science for agriculture and land management.
4. Engage actively with opinion formers and influential bodies, particularly on subjects of controversy or where science has a key role to play.
5. Develop and interesting, accessible and informative public website
