The images in this Image Library are copyright Rothamsted Research and are freely available for non-commercial use on the terms of our online licence. For requests involving the use of an image in commercial media, please first contact Darren Hughes to discuss the details. If you need to purchase a licence to use an image, please visit our webpage on the science photo library: www.sciencephoto.com/collection/rothamsted-research or contact carol.connett@rothamsted.ac.uk to discuss options.

What Does Non-Commercial Mean?

If it is expected that no money will be made from your use of the images, then this is non-commercial use. This could be for one of the following:

› Personal use
› Academic teaching e.g. PowerPoint presentation to a class of students, examination papers
› Study e.g. using images in a PhD thesis or other reports submitted by a student for the purpose of an academic qualification
› Reproduction in an academic publication such as a book or professional journal article

Commercial Media Requests

If you want to use an image from the Image Library in a TV programme or newspaper article you will first need to contact Darren Hughes to discuss your request. Once agreed then the image can be downloaded from the Image Library provided that you accept the terms of the 'Copyright Online Licensing Agreement (Commercial Media)'. All images must refer to the credit line '© Rothamsted Research Ltd'.
