In addition to the three main sites, the Institute also operates other research
units and farms.
› Brimstone Field Drainage site near Faringdon, Oxfordshire for joint studies
with ADAS on the long-term movement and leaching of applied agrochemicals
› Woburn Farm in Bedfordshire-taken over in 1926 from the Royal Agricultural
Society of England, which had conducted experiments there since 1876.
› Saxmundham - this experimental site started in 1899 by East Suffoik County
Council came under Rothamsted's control in 1964.
